Ronald McDonald House of CT Groundbreaking Ceremony
The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new Ronald McDonald House of CT took place on May 11, 2016 at the new location of 860 Howard Avenue in New Haven.
CAMA is collaborating with Svigals & Partners Architects to develop the interiors and create design solutions that allow families to properly tend to the needs of their sick children in a comfortable setting. Amenities will include a kitchen and dining room, family common room, library, toddler playroom, teen game room, laundry room, fitness room, and computer room.
The development of the new Ronald McDonald House, adjacent to Yale-New Haven Children's hospital, holds 42 rooms and is replacing the existing 12-bedroom house on George Street. The house is set to open its doors in Summer 2017. Funding is underway with over $4 million currently raised - towards a goal of $5 million.
The new Ronald McDonald House of CT will be under a 98 year lease on land donated by Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital - allowing the house to serve thousands of families whose children are stricken with a life-threatening illness.
